Summertime Working the Weeds

I get a lot of inquiries about why I am fishing this or that spot and why. A lot of people that fish do not have the time to spend on the water and struggle to search their surroundings that lie below to find that fishing hotspot.
I dedicate a lot of fishing time working weeds during summer the best can change from lake to lake. Not just any old weed line will do. My best spots have a thick wall of weeds. I find that most fish are on the inside or outside turns in weeds. Fish location will change as fast as the wind blows. As it will blow bait fish into that area where it is blowing.
The best presentation I use is to cast a small jig to the weed edge letting it set to the bottom and slowly sweep your rod and reel up your line letting fall back to the bottom. The other way I like to work the weeds is to look for holes or scattered areas with bobbers or weedless jigs drifting, pitching jigs, anchoring all have a place and best time. The holes can be difficult to find usually being twenty to ten feet around on flats.
They are created when fish are making their spawning beds a good locator and polarized sunglass help to find all these spots.
